After a little bit of head scratching, we found a straightforward way to marry up Ecomonkey product listings with the Energy Saving Recommended data we were kindly sent under the auspices of the Energy Saving Trust endorsement scheme.

It is not perfect yet, as we were not able to include everything in the first round that currently gets the EST's cherished label. Nevertheless, we included all white goods such as dishwashers, fridges etc., TVs and DTRs (digital TV recorders).

On the plus side this means that a few more appliances will be getting more green points, which is nice.

Energy saving lamps and luminaires are next on the todo list.

In time we want to make far more interesting use of these data, but for now this provides a valuable adjunct to our elegant rating scheme.
